Extended DISC Profiles - S Style

What is the DISC Assessment?

The DISC assessment is based on the work of William Moulton Marston, a psychologist who created the DISC theory. The DISC model centers on four DISC factors known as Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C).

The S Style

The S style profile, also known as Steadiness or S type, is one of the four basic DISC types that originated from the William Marston’s DISC Model.

S Styles make up approximately 30% of the worldwide population.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

S styles are calm, helpful, patient, modest, and laid back. They are eager to help, loyal and often make excellent team players. S styles tend to be patient listeners, trustworthy, and balanced between tasks and people. They are very persistent.

S styles need stability and security and, therefore, need help with change. They may be too willing to pitch in and at times are taken advantage of. Others may perceive S styles as too slow, stuck on the status quo, indecisive, stubborn and even quietly resentful.

COMMUNICATION STYLE

S personality styles listen more than they talk. They are great instructors and can see things from many viewpoints. S Styles are more comfortable in one-on one communication.

When communicating with S Style individuals, slow down and explain in detail. Remember to focus on benefits to their team and people close to them.
